Post Covid 19 India : Survival Steps

One of the biggest setbacks in last 100 years the Indian subcontinent has faced is Corona virus pandemic. It has exposed how inefficiently the country was performing in terms of health care and migrant workers management. The already severe unemployment crisis has become the worse in decades. Migrant workers being forced to walk to the distances unimaginable during the peace time. The present Indian government, in spite of putting its best effort to manage the crisis has failed to perform as expected. The announcements of schemes like Atma nirbhar bharat in mid of a crisis is like hiding the truth behind a new veil. Corona virus has already spread in major part of the country now and looks like its vaccine is going to take some time at least 1 year if it comes at all, before it reaches to everyone. Till that time this mishandling and mismanagement is leading to a biggest setback which will take multiple years to recover. People and the country may be pushed to abject poverty and huge ...

Managing Complexity

What could be possible strategy to manage complexity with ease? Step 1: The answer lies in the individuals habits. Its easy to miss the bus, friends b'day party, gym, train etc but the consequences of doing so in some cases may not be what we want them to be. One may reach late to the office one day but doing that repeatedly becomes a habit and that makes the person more weak in managing complexity. The person who has already developed some good habits of doing tasks on time, sleeping early, getting up early, taking care of health, family etc has mental peace and is ready to face any new challenge in terms of complexity in the future. Once the first step of aligning habits with career goals is achieved then comes the second step. Step 2: Breakdown and structure the complexity Many a times complexity as a whole may be solved by breaking down the problem into the small  problems and identifying the root causes of the small problems. Once we know the areas where the core prob...

Random universe related thoughts

Universe is boundless, vast, has no end and no beginning. For universe, our planet earth is a tiny minuscule planet. Whatever we may think that we know about universe is still 1/million times of what the universe may actually comprise of. Every theory may fail at those large distances. For instance, the distance between two galaxies is in the ranges of a million light years.  A light year is the distance traveled by the light in one year. Light is so fast that it can cover 3 lakh kilometers in a second. Till the time we hadn't discovered radio, communication satellites and airplanes, even earth used to look like a big giant planet. It used to take months and year to travel from one corner of earth to the other. But now with the advent of technology, world has become a global village. One can connect with his long distance friend with skype in seconds for free of cost. With supersonic and hypersonic planes it takes merely 5-6 hours to reach to the any corner of earth. Communicatio...

Navigating through challenging times

There will always be times in our lives when everything will look smooth. We will have better health, better access to resources, great friends and family, everything which makes us satisfied and comfortable. But, there will also be times in our lives when the winds will blow against the direction of the boat. It will be very difficult to maneuver your life boat in the forward direction, everything will seem lost and everything will look falling down to pieces. The point here I want to make is, irrespective of whatever be the times, the man's smartness is always the function of his ability to manage the complexity. We need to understand that times will always change and being the smart individual at least for oneself, one has to keep his calm, patience, hold his breath and wait for the right moment if the immediate results are not possible.  The person who comes out of all the wriggles and still goes to the top is more respected than the one who sails without any obstacles. So, ...

Mid-Career Crisis

Where am I heading?? Am I able to fulfil life expectations with my present job?? ( Potential vs Opportunity ) available in the job market?? Addressing this question becomes way too tough when one lacks clarity in understanding himself. We tend to over look our potential ( Knowledge, Skills, Abilities). This leads to higher expectations than what we are actually able perform. Its very important to test yourself and know completely where are the gaps present and manner they will be addressed. With those gaps already existing and unknown, it is failure what we get when we target something which we thought we can do. Tried and tested over time and focused approach towards your strengths and reworking  on them and aligning them with the target lead us to a more future proof individual.

Educated unemployed in India

One of the biggest challenge which our country is facing today is the educated unemployed/under employed.  Number of  graduates coming out of  the colleges are increasing every year. Competitive exam aspirants increase every year and also average number of attempts an aspirant takes for one opportunity/competitive exams are increasing. Number of job opportunities are not proportionately increasing at even at one third pace of the manner candidates are increasing. Survey reports say that one out of every three graduates upto the age of 29 are unemployed in India. 15 lakhs students pursue engineering degree every year. Only 10% of them get a job of even a slight satisfaction levels. Employers say that fresh engineering graduates are not fit enough to be hired as they lack certain basic skills & technical skills. A million engineers in India are struggling to get placed in an extremely challenging Job market. One fifth of them are at the risk of being unemployed. Frustr...

Time

One night when I was listening to one of Pink Floyd's song "Time".Lyrics are composed in a way which shows a person the reality which is happening and which will happen in the future. And once the time goes it says "And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but its sinking. Racing around to come up behind you again. Sun is the same in a relative way but you are older, Shorter of breath and one day closer to death". Though I liked this song pretty much initially but later on realized that as the time will pass by and again when I will listen to this song, I will be more demotivated. I am moving closer to death. The point here is that as a day passes and you have experiences, you are more mature to face the world, A more better person. Putting your energy on your strengths and being better as the time passes and simultaneously continuing with the Values identified and adhered will lead to the path where you always wanted to be. Its very logical here to u...
